The Charity Film Challenge is an initiative where teams of volunteers will craft documentary-style short films for deserving charities over a weekend.

There are nearly 30,000 registered charities in London. These organisations play a crucial role in addressing local community needs and supporting various causes across the city.

There are nearly 30,000 registered charities in London. These organisations play a crucial role in addressing local community needs and supporting various causes across the city.

Nearly 80% of them operate on less than £100,000 per year. Especially in our post-pandemic world, they stretch every pound to bring vital support, leaving little for marketing and communications.

We know that video works in spreading helping these charities reach new audiences: donors, beneficiaries, and members of the community. Nearly 60% of people feel compelled to donate to a charity after viewing a video related to their cause.

At the same time, Britons are looking for skills-based volunteering (SBV) opportunities. 52% are willing to provide pro bono support, but need help finding charities in need.

That’s where we come in.

Like a hackathon for video, we’re challenging video producers, students, marketers, communications professionals, and others to donate their time to create one impactful video for deserving charities in need.

We want to create a marquee event where everyone wins: volunteers will walk away real world experience and a video for their portfolio while growing their professional network. Charities will receive a video to help tell the story of their organsation and increase their funding opportunities.
