Charity Film Challenge: Empowering Charities and Emerging Filmmakers

The Charity Film Challenge is an initiative created by Patchbay Media, a full-service video production agency with a mission to empower world-changing organizations through the power of video. Operating in both the US and the UK, we believe video storytelling touches hearts and moves people in ways that words or pictures alone cannot. Our expertise spans documentary-style films, animated explainers, live event production with on-site editing, remote production, and repurposed content.

We launched the Charity Film Challenge with a dual mission: to help small and medium-sized charities in London showcase their incredible impact, and to support early-career videographers as they navigate their way into the industry.

At the heart of this initiative is our belief in skilled-based volunteering—enabling talented individuals to use their creative skills for good while gaining valuable real-world experience. The Challenge connects emerging filmmakers with charities, providing them the opportunity to collaborate on professional video projects alongside experienced videographers.

Our goal is to offer aspiring videographers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to build their portfolios while creating high-quality, impactful films for organizations making a difference. By doing so, we aim to amplify the stories and reach of London-based charities, while empowering rising creatives to grow, learn, and contribute to causes that matter.
