The Charity Film Challenge offers London-based charities an incredible opportunity to tell their story through the power of video. Created by Patchbay Media, this initiative brings together talented filmmakers and professionals who donate their skills to create impactful films for deserving charities—all in just 48 hours. This is your chance to receive a professional-quality video to reach new audiences, increase awareness, and inspire support for your cause.

How It Works
A Weekend Dedicated to Your Cause
1. Application Period:
Apply to be considered for this unique opportunity.
2. Selection Process
Charities will be vetted and selected.
3. Pre-Event Preparation
In the weeks before the event, your charity will be paired with a team of volunteer filmmakers. You’ll collaborate with them to plan your story, select subjects, and coordinate key details.
4. Challenge Weekend
Saturday: Filming day, capturing interviews, b-roll, and key visuals to tell your story.
Sunday: Editing day, where the footage is crafted into a compelling short film.
5. Screening Event
On Sunday, your film will be showcased before a live audience and a panel of judges in central London. The winning team and charity will receive a cash prize!
What we ask of charities
For a successful collaboration, we request that participating charities:
- Provide Access to Story Contributors: Identify and coordinate with individuals (e.g., beneficiaries, staff, volunteers) who can contribute to the storytelling.
- Engage Your Network: Share updates on the Charity Film Challenge, the video, and screening event with your supporters through email and social media.
- Plan for Video Use: Consider how you’ll use the final video to further your mission. We may ask about your marketing plan during the application process to ensure this film will have the greatest possible impact.
